Zahra Gamal
Performer - Teacher -Choreographer

Zahra Gamal began studying Middle Eastern dance in 1996 under the instruction of nationally acclaimed teacher Leila Gamal. Three years later she relocated to the Washington DC area to pursue and advance her career. She performed extensively in the areas nightclubs & restaurants; soon she became one of DC’s most sought after performers.
In the year 2000 Zahra started traveling to NYC to study with renowned teachers Samara & Jajouka. This would later result in her joining Samara’s Mosaic Dance Company and moving to Manhattan in 2006 where she continued performing and expanding her repertoire.
Zahra has been called one of the most promising dancers of the“new generation”. Her poise and elegance combined with her dramatic presence and refined technique has been compared to the dancers of the classic era.
Beyond the club scene, she has done numerous theatre shows, weddings, festivals and benefits. She has appeared in Arabic music videos, the Discovery Channel and has performed for ambassadors.
Zahra has traveled around the US and Egypt to observe and further study the art of dance with some of the world’s leading teachers. She has been a dedicated teacher for the past decade known for her knowledge and positive & encouraging attitude in the classroom. She founded and was co-owner of Yallah! Dance Studio in Chicago, Illinois from 2010 through 2016.
Zahra now resides in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area.
